MCS 2000 Range - Closed Loop Tension Control Systems

Friction Components Web Tension Control systems are designed to maintain the required tension throughout the unwinding (or rewinding) of a reel of paper, film, foil, metal or similar material.

Friction offer a full range of controllers, starting with the simplest Roll-Follower arm type, up to the MCS2000 closed loop, 3 term electronic controller.

The Friction Roll-Follower Arm controller is an open-loop pneumatic controller for general applications. This unit adjusts the air pressure in proportion to the reel diameter. (The MCS 2000 - POT is a non contact, Ultrasonic alternative where sensitive material is being processed)

For more precise control, or if tension is to be controlled during a flying splice operation, the MCS 2000 range is ideal. The MCS 2000 (Modular Control System) Web Tension Controller range consists of a dedicated control module, sensors and a driver device for the type of brake(s) being controlled.

Friction Components offer a full range of sensor and driver options, however if you wish to upgrade an existing control system, MCS 2000 control modules can be used in conjunction with most widely used sensors. The Friction Components MCS2000-POT is a potentiometer-regulated ultra-sonic based tension control system designed to maintain stable web tension during the steady running phase of paper, film and foil converting machines.

Simple to set up and use, the Friction MCS2000-POT is an analogue device that enables users to save over 50% of the cost of buying and commissioning a more complex digital control system.
